- Complete dentures:
This is one of the oldest dental treatment modalities. Dentures are made to replace all the
missing teeth in the upper jaw, lower jaw, or both. They are most commonly made out of plastic. Complete dentures can be made to resemble the patient’s old teeth, or they can be made to change the way the natural teeth looked. Properly made complete dentures restore the facial profile, as well as the lip support.
Partials:
Partial dentures are made to replace a few missing teeth in the upper jaw, lower jaw, or both. This type of prosthesis has a metal framework, which is covered by plastic. Partial dentures are held in place by small clasps around the natural teeth. Small clips can be used instead of clasps in esthetic areas to avoid showing the clasps.
